The Sweet Sound of Results

09/28/2011

“I don’t care much about music. What I like is sounds.”

--Dizzy Gillespie

The great jazz musician is basically saying that results, or the byproducts of the musical process, are what count in the end. You can know all of the theory in the world, but if it doesn’t sound good then nobody will listen. This is true in investing, as well. A lot of advisors possess all of the theory and jargon of the market, but how many can deliver market-beating results for decades? The answer is very few. So the next time you’re shopping around for advisors, remember that it’s the sound that counts, not the music.

Wisdom about money, investing and life can be found anywhere. If you have a good quote you’d like me to share with your fellow Alert readers, send it to me, along with any comments, questions and suggestions you have about my radio show, newsletters, seminars or anything else.
